R/V Sealth Participates in Special People's Holiday Cruise

The R/V Sealth was one of more than 400 vessels that participated in the 2010 Seafair Special People's Holiday Cruise that took place on Sunday, December 5.  Global Seas volunteered the vessel for the 38th annual holiday cruise that treated more than 2,000 developmentally disabled guests to a lighted boat parade on Lake Union and Lake Washington.  

R/V Mt. Mitchell Captain and Crew Profiles Now Featured on Global Seas Website

Global Seas, the owner and operator of the 231 ft. R/V Mt Mitchell, has launched a new section on the website, www.globalseas.com. The new section features the Mt. Mitchell captain and crew, highlights their experience, training, and responsibilities.  Collectively, the captain and crew have more than 300 years experience in the maritime industry.  

R/V Mt. Mitchell Featured in June Issue of Sea Technology Magazine

The R/V Mt. Mitchell, a 231 foot hydrographic research vessel with full ocean mapping capabilities, was featured in the June issue of Sea Technology Magazine.  The article, R/V Mt. Mitchell Advances Science Through Ocean Mappinghighlights the use of the Mt. Mitchell’s permanently installed Kongsberg EM 120 and EM 710 multibeam echosounders for various scientific missions.  Sea Technology is read in more than 110 countries and a worldwide information leader for marine business, science and engineering. 

R/V Sealth Returns to Seattle

Global Seas, a Seattle-based maritime management company, would like to announce the R/V Sealth is joining the Global Seas research vessels on the west coast and will be docked in Seattle.  The R/V Sealth, a 55 ft. Catamaran Cruiser, was based in Chesapeake Bay, Florida for the past five years completing shallow water survey expeditions.

R/V Mt. Mitchell Departs Seattle en Route for the Oregon Coast

The Mt. Mitchell departed Fishermen’s Terminal located in Seattle, WA on April 1, 2010, en route for the Oregon Coast.  On board are scientists, observers, and representatives from L3 MariPro and Williamson & Associates.  

THE R/V MT MITCHELL COMPLETES SEVERAL CHARTERS IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN

GLOBAL SEAS LLC, the operators of the Seattle, Washington based R/V MT MITCHELL installed new technology on the ship in April 2008.  The installation included a Kongsberg EM 120 Multibeam Echo Sounder and EM Full Performance 710 High Resolution Seabed Mapping System as well as survey launch capability.  Since the installation of the new technology, the R/V MT MITCHELL has completed several noteworthy charters in the Pacific Ocean.

Global Seas adds the F/V Defender to their fleet

Global Seas LLC, a Seattle-based maritime management company, is pleased to announce the management of one of the premier vessels in the Bering Sea, the F/V Defender, starting in 2009.

In December 2008, Defender LLC. was purchased by Dona Martita LLC, a partnership between Nina Fisheries, Inc. and Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation.  The purchase of the Defender  LLC includes the 200’ mid water trawl vessel and its inshore Pollock quota.

MT. MITCHELL – Fisheries Research Capabilities

GLOBAL SEAS LLC, the operators of the Seattle, Washington based R/V MT. MITCHELL announced last week that new capabilities were recently installed on the ship. The installations included a Kongsberg EM 120 Multibeam Echo Sounder and EM 710 High Resolution Seabed Mapping System as well as survey launch capability and ROV and AUV HiPAP tracking capability.
